Setup MCP on Cursor

Learn how to create a MCP server for your documentation on CrawlChat

Go to the collection you want to enable MCP server

Go to MCP tab

Give the tool a name. It is used by the Cursor to identify when to use this MCP server

Copy the Cursor MCP Command. We will use this in the next steps.

Open the Cursor editor

Open the menu and select Cursor Settings.

Go to MCP section

Click and go to the Add new MCP server section

Paste the copied Cursor MCP command here. Make sure the JSON is valid. Save once done.

Make sure that the new MCP server is added and shows Green signal on the MCP servers page.

Now you (your customers) can use the documentation right from the Cursor editor. Also, the Cursor agent will automagically use it whenever it is required.

Open menu and go to New Chat menu

For example, here we ask a question related to the content

It calls the MCP tool and fetches the relevant content and performs relevant action!

You can see it writing code itself with the help of the documentation MCP server!

You successfully completed the guide!
